Mark is an experienced Senor Naval Architect and Project Director. He is a qualified and experienced naval Architect and has managed large and complex multidisciplinary teams in the concept design, new build, conversion and upgrade projects. As project director he is responsible for taking the lead as well as project managing major projects, and ensuring a solid interface between clients, suppliers and internal teams.

Mark specialises in the land-sea interface: Ports, Jetties and Pontoons. His deep experience of vessels, structures and stability finds applications from offshore energy to river infrastructure along the Thames often partnering with civil engineering firms.

Mark is a Chartered Engineer with 18 years of experience in project engineering/management, construction (subsea and vessel modification), consultancy work, design engineering and tendering. He commenced his career in a large multi-national installation contractor, gaining responsibility and becoming the lead engineer within a busy expanding department prior to specialising in technical consultancy. He combines the wide-ranging experience to understand project risks, restraints and demands with use of technical knowledge to guide decision making.

Mark’s team engineers offshore solutions as economies transition to carbon-neutral. Experience spans structural analysis and design in established sectors (Oil & Gas and Fixed Offshore Wind) to technical advisory studies in lower carbon fuels (LNG and Hydrogen) and Floating Offshore Wind.

He has a good knowledge and experience of ship design and build in accordance with Flag and Class requirement, UK, military and International shipbuilding standards. He has worked on commercial, government and defence projects giving him an insight into best practice. For example, he participated in the CVF Value Engineering Working Group for BAE Systems.

As such he is ideally placed to advise on marine projects, be that at a strategic, implementation or technical level.

Julian leads Marine Equipment Design and associated ‘build partner’ relationships. He also runs Expert Services – an extended team providing seasoned technical input on legal disputes and contractual negotiations.

An experienced naval architect and marine engineer with specialist experience in hydrodynamics covering hull form design, performance prediction (powering, dynamic stability, manoeuvring and seakeeping), sea trials and data analysis. He has worked on the design and testing of a broad range of vessels and floating marine structures covering ferries, patrol craft, superyachts, all-weather and free-fall lifeboats, survival systems, research vessels, survey vessels, crew transfer vessels, offshore service vessels, barges, floating wind turbines and floating booms. Since early in his career, he has also been closely involved in the development of the high-speed ferry industry through the design, build, testing and surveying of numerous such vessels in Europe, Australia and USA. Jonathan is a principal naval architect with considerable technical experience including structural, stability and arrangement aspects of new build projects. He has been involved in running a wide variety of design projects including Plan Approval of a series of three pure Car and Truck Carriers, Scrubber retrofits for passenger ferries, sea fastenings for fitting Welstim spread on offshore supply vessel. Most recently, he has led the detailed design and construction of the UK’s first Dual Fuel LNG Passenger Ferries for Caledonian Macbrayne and Ferguson’s shipyard.

Jonathan leads on new builds and vessel conversion across our markets. Energy transition is a specialism with recent work featuring fuel-efficient design, LNG and carbon capture.

David has broad-reaching experience in the marine industry having worked on both defence and commercial marine vessels in consultancy and Classification Society roles. His experience extends from initial concept and feasibility evaluations to practical shipbuilding experience, newbuild and refit supervision and in-service support. David’s range of technical experience covers concept through to detail design, hydrodynamics, stability, seakeeping and structural design which is balanced with experience of managing large projects for a diverse range of ship types and clients.

David specialises in technical advisory work throughout a vessel’s lifecycle. He has a particular interest in the evaluation and application of clean technology.
