Large Structural Interfaces

There are often times when you need to install new or temporary equipment onboard your vessel. At Houlder we have a wealth of experience when it comes to engineering the interface for large equipment.

Structural engineering is a core discipline of naval architecture. Regardless of whether the equipment is permanent, such as new life boats, or temporary project equipment, such as WTG components, we ensure that the interface is designed in accordance with Class and/or marine warranty surveyor requirements. Our structural team is very strong, delivering first time with minimal comments from Class or MWS.

“Engineering large structural interfaces needs more than just the structural design as the vessel stability and motion characteristics are also affected. At Houlder we highlight the risks and offer solutions that pure structural engineers could not.”
