Ports & Infrastructure

At Houlder, we’ve been working regularly on the interface between land and water, including a wide variety of passenger piers and jetties, since our project to design the marine infrastructure of the London Eye in 1999.

Services include:

  • Structural Design of Pontoons and Linkspans
  • Hydrodynamic analysis of pontoons and moored vessels
  • Hydrostatic Stability Calculations
  • Vessel Berthing and energy absorption calculations
  • Design and inspections of M & E services
  • Mooring arrangements and mooring analysis

We employ a wide range of calculations and analysis software to bring you innovative design solutions.  Houlder then coordinates with Lloyd’s Register to achieve Linkspan Rules approval for the full design package, produces the fabrication specification and drawings and oversees your build.
