Houlder has announced the recruitment of Matthew Gray in a new sales account manager role. Matthew joins in response to new opportunities in the local oil and gas and renewables sectors.
Rupert Hare, Houlder Chief Executive Officer, explains; “Matthew joins with a proven track record with local innovative engineering at its heart. Our feeling is contractors are returning to Aberdeen with new sets of challenging requirements. Matthew has joined our team of engineers, tradespeople, designers and technical staff to engage with the market place and find us the kind of large, complex, time dependent engineering tasks we thrive on.”
Houlder has a long history in the upstream oil and gas business. Celebrating its 30th anniversary as an independent consultancy last year, the company had previously owned and operated a range of vessels and drilling units including the record-breaking Uncle John dive support semi-submersible, named after company founder Professor John Houlder. As a former operator, the company brings decades’ of in-house data, skills and understanding to each project.
Since becoming independent, Houlder has developed a strong reputation for improving offshore operator’s performance through the application of effective project management, design, engineering, analysis, innovation and expert services; adding value to our global list of clients throughout the lifecycle of their assets. Our team took over 1,500 flights in 2017 to undertake work, often at very short notice.
Rupert concludes “As a sales account manager Matthew will be talking to clients about quickly and easily solving operational challenges with advanced design and engineering, impacting on performance with innovative equipment and reducing the risks associated asset upgrades with turnkey contracting. Houlder’s flexibility, breadth of expertise and responsiveness has been a feature of the Aberdeen industry for thirty years. Now, with increased confidence in the offshore sector and new members of the team aboard, we are better placed than ever to win and deliver exciting new work.”
Matthew joins the team from Archer Oiltools where he was Sales & Delivery Manager. He is based at Houlder’s Bridge of Don offices, with a global remit across Houlder’s marine, offshore and subsea markets.
