Robinson move reflects growth

Nigel Robinson has been appointed Houlder’s Director of Offshore Projects & Engineering. Based in Aberdeen, he will be accountable for the company’s offshore engineering business across the UK.  A former Senior Vice President at GL Noble Denton, he brings a rounded executive management experience coupled with expert knowledge of offshore assets and marine operations.

Rupert Hare, Houlder CEO, says of the news “We are incredibly pleased to welcome Nigel. He has a great mix of hands on experience and strategic know-how. This makes him ideally placed to deliver against our clients’ requirements, targets and industry challenges.”

The move signals the company’s continued commitment to growth.  Driven by client need, Houlder project teams have undertaken larger and more complex projects in recent years. This has led to investment in capacity and capability in the UK & US – a strategy rewarded by a SMARTA Breakthough50 Award earlier this year. This recognises Houlder as one of the top fifty fastest growing companies in the UK.

Nigel recognises he has joined Houlder during exciting times. “I am very happy to be joining such an enterprising and capable company” he explains. “Houlder is on an ambitious growth plan, built on a solid foundation of customer service.  It is great to have the opportunity to be part of that.”

“Charting a ‘solo’ course through this swirl of uncertainty is close to impossible. That’s why we’re often asked by clients to build their knowledge, evaluate their challenges and assess their options. We work closely with research funds and clean-tech providers by bringing decades of industry experience to bear. Our position is independent, technical ‘client friend’ for the decarbonising decades ahead.”
