Safety First – Houlder achieves OHSAS 18001 Certification

Houlder is celebrating achieving OHSAS 18001 Health & Safety certification. The Occupational Health & Safety Assessment series is an effective way of ensuring that hazards and risks are suitably managed and controlled. All Houlder employees, contractors and visitors potentially affected by the company’s activities are now protected by an externally verified health and safety management system.

Houlder is an independent provider of all forms of offshore engineering, marine equipment, project management, design and analysis. The company supports its clients through each stage of the project lifecycle –from the initial concept through design, engineering, construction, commissioning, installation, start-up, delivery, operation and disposal. Safety is critical to all its operations.

Rupert Hare, Chief Executive Officer commented “We are delighted our commitment to the safety and well-being of the people we work with has been recognised in this way. Certification gives our clients added confidence that project risks are fully mitigated and incidents, additional cost and delays are minimised.”

OHSAS 18001 Certification by LRQA was awarded 25 August 2015 following intensive audits of Houlder offices and activities in London, Tyneside, Aberdeen and Houston, USA.

“Charting a ‘solo’ course through this swirl of uncertainty is close to impossible. That’s why we’re often asked by clients to build their knowledge, evaluate their challenges and assess their options. We work closely with research funds and clean-tech providers by bringing decades of industry experience to bear. Our position is independent, technical ‘client friend’ for the decarbonising decades ahead.”
