Upturn Heralded by New EPCC Contracts

Houlder has announced new EPCC and standalone engineering scopes from across its client base. Examples include new £Multi-Million contracts delivering floating accommodation, tender support vessel and drilling unit periodic surveys and upgrades. The new EPCC work, awarded over summer, sees the company delivering all required survey, design, engineering, procurement and fabrication services.
Houlder has been contracted as the Turnkey Project Management Services provider in each case. This typically includes being accountable for a wide range of tasks such as steel work replacement, pipework design and installation, power upgrades, topside and process equipment installation and lifeboat and safety equipment refits. Houlder’s multi-disciplinary teams include mechanical, electrical and structural engineers, piping and CAD designers and construction trades to deliver the work – operating onsite and providing 24/7 operations as required.
Chief Executive Officer Rupert Hare commented “We continue to win work in an competitive environment by responding to our clients’ renewed need for responsiveness and value for money. We continued to invest in our team and processes through the downturn to ensure we’re well-positioned to respond effectively as demand picks up. In these latest EPCC projects, we are delivering all the required workscopes from under one roof and under one contract. This provides welcome risk management and cost benefits for our clients. With Houlder’s thirty years of experience to draw on”, continues Rupert, “our clients can be confident we fully understand their requirements and the cost and scheduling pressures they work under every day. ”
The company’s Quality Management is externally verified by ISO 9001:2015 and its rigorous on site HSE processes are certified to OHSAS 18001. Houlder has also been audited to an advanced level by the European Oil & Gas industry’s Achille’s FPAL procurement portal. This, combined with an enviable client list of major offshore contractors and drilling companies, demonstrates that Houlder is ideally placed to deliver more large EPCC projects as the offshore industry looks to maintain assets into the future.
