Houlder team announces ISO 9001:2015 Quality Standard

Houlder is pleased to announce it has achieved certification to the latest International Organisation for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 Quality Standard. This latest edition of ISO’s flagship Quality Standard, published at the end of last year, concluded over three years of revision work by experts from nearly 95 participating and observing countries. It brings the standard up to date with modern business needs.
“Our new certification focuses on quality systems and performance. It demonstrates Houlder has maintained a robust Business Quality Management System (BQMS) and further embeds quality within our wider business strategy” explains Frederic Perdrix, Houlder’s Chief Technical Officer (pictured below). “We have ensured that managing risks and taking accountability for outputs drives the company’s BQMS processes. Our overall commitment to continual business improvement remains strong”
Houlder’s transition from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015 Standard sits alongside the Company’s BS OHSAS 18001 HSE certification. Both provide Houlder clients with confidence in our ability to deliver Quality, Safety and businesses performance. Whether it is supplying windfarm installation equipment, upgrading drilling rig capacity and capability or designing the next generation of environmentally friendly passenger ferries, compliant business processes are key to safe and successful project delivery.
The new 9001:2015 Quality Standard is described as less prescriptive by ISO and is more tailored to specific 21st Century business requirements. There is a stronger emphasis on the importance of meeting objectives meaning, in the case of Houlder, processes are more closely linked to the engineering excellence and innovation required to meet clients’ specifications.
Houlder was assessed by Lloyd’s Register (LRQA) auditors prior to re-certification. LRQA is a world leading, independent provider of Business Assurance services including management system certification, validation, verification and training to bespoke and international standards and schemes. The new certification was awarded 13th July 2017. Houlder has been continually certified to ISO Standards since 1999.
Frederic Perdrix concludes “We are pleased to mark our continued commitment to improvement with ISO 9001:2015 certification. We recognise that by providing the quality, safety and business performance in line with recognised best practice is vital to our clients’ success as well as our own success”
