Subsea Expo is held February 1-3, 2017 at the AECC, Aberdeen. Attracting over 5,000 delegates and around 150 exhibitors, it is the world’s largest subsea exhibition and conference. Organisers, Subsea UK have announced Houlder’s Marine Equipment Director, James A. Russell (pictured) has been selected to share his experience of innovation.
James will present Installing Pile Foundations for Offshore Wind Construction – Lessons learned from Innovation at the Subsea Expo Conference. Presenting in the diversification stream of sessions, James will share lessons that the Oil & Gas subsea sector can provide to the wind industry drawing upon direct experience of lowering costs.
James has been an innovator in offshore windfarm construction for 20 years. He operates from Tyneside, where the Houlder team has more than doubled in headcount in recent years. He is focused on project delivery from tendering through to completion – working in both SMEs and multinationals managing major engineering, construction and procurement projects.
His insight is gained from leading for Houlder’s Marine Equipment business stream, a wholly independent provider of offshore equipment, engineering, marine equipment, project management, design and analysis. He will present a technical description of its pile installation equipment including pile gripper arms (below), lifting and upending tools and subsea positioning templates – providing valuable lessons for anyone tasked with the design or procurement of related equipment in the future.
James’s conference session is Thursday 2 February at 1030am as part of Subsea Expo’s diversification stream of presentations. You can read more details and register here.
