Houlder has cemented its entry into the renewable energy marketplace by joining professional body Renewable UK. The company’s Renewable Energy business is already working on an array of projects that aid the increasingly large, complex and deepwater offshore wind projects.
These include a turbine access system (pictured) for safe personnel transfer to and from work boats in partnership with BMT Group, an installation jack-up vessel and an efficient intra array cabling system.
The company has joined the organisation to ensure its renewable energy division is best placed to contribute to design, innovation and problem-solving capabilities to the offshore energy industry alongside developers, owners and operators.
Operating from its UK head office in London, the company’s new renewable energy business draws on its varied offshore experience across a range of sectors together with its experienced marine engineers, designers and draftspeople.
Colin Pearce was appointed to head the development of the renewable energy business, which is currently exploring evolutionary offshore wind and tidal energy projects.
Formerly the British Wind Energy Association, RenewableUK has been operating since 1978 as a trade and professional body for the UK wind and marine renewables industries.
