Clean Ship Technology Focus at Gastech

Houlder is marking its presence at the Gastech 2018 Exhibition and Conference by launching a new website celebrating its clean ship technology capabilities. You can visit it here houldercleanships.com.
The marine engineering and naval architecture company, responsible for designing the UK’s newest LNG dual fuel and electric hybrid ferries, has gained a reputation for its positive environmental impact. Owners and operators across the marine sector have turned to Houlder for support in achieving green targets. This includes compliance with IMO MARPOL Sulphur emission and Ballast Water Management (BWM) conventions; noise and vibration analysis and discharge and energy management.
The Houlder team brings a wealth of engineering know-how and expertise to clean ship projects with our multi-disciplinary teams working with new build and retrofits. Whether the requirement is emission control, ballast water management, energy saving, clean fuel, HVAC efficiency or alternative propulsion, Houlder applies technical ability, practical understanding of vessel operations and detailed knowledge of Class rules and Government regulation. The company has put this knowledge to work as technical advisor to the RRS Sir David Attenborough Polar Research Vessel and is providing support to the Ministry of Defence’s new build programmes. Typical workscopes encompass all potential phases of activity from surveying and specification through complete design and analysis packages to installation and build project management. Our goal is to consistently benefit vessel operators, passengers and communities by positively impacting on vessel’s environmental performance.
The Gastech exhibition is the world’s largest event of its kind. Over 30,000 international professionals from a vast array of industries across the natural gas, LNG and energy value chains will be attending the event to meet and do business.
Houlder’s Stand (F107), above, features a range of LNG Bunkering and Transfer products and services including the KHOBRA Transfer System, developed with KLAW LNG, and a ‘jettyless’ Floating Transfer Systems.
With the demand for clean fuel set to grow by at least 50% over the next twenty years, innovative cost-effective infrastructure is only going to increase in value and importance. Houlder, together with other GasTech 2018 exhibitors, are fulfilling some of the most intriguing clean technology challenges in our industry.
