3D Laser Scan for New Equipment

Houlder recently completed a 3D laser scan for one of our clients as part of a project to install a new air receiver in their vessel’s machinery space.

The laser scan allowed us to model the new equipment to ensure that there is sufficient space to manoeuvre it along the proposed shipping route.

This is a new application of laser scan technology for Houlder. We have previously employed it to generate detailed models to help retrofit pipework and equipment such as scrubbers or ballast water treatment systems.

“Charting a ‘solo’ course through this swirl of uncertainty is close to impossible. That’s why we’re often asked by clients to build their knowledge, evaluate their challenges and assess their options. We work closely with research funds and clean-tech providers by bringing decades of industry experience to bear. Our position is independent, technical ‘client friend’ for the decarbonising decades ahead.”
