Plan approval

As part of the dialogue with the shipyard during the development of ship or rig designs, Houlder may co-ordinate the review of all plans and procedures in conjunction with the owner. The Houlder project manager will put together a team of experienced naval architects and engineers to review all details and discuss any comments with the owner’s representatives before responding to the shipyard.

The review cycle is set out in the shipbuilding contract and is typically two to three weeks. Houlder is well versed in working within these tight timescales requiring careful co-ordination and clear and regular communication.

The approach to the plan approval process is carefully documented in the Houlder procedures.
