Reduced Motion Ship Design - Development of low motion response hull forms for offshore drilling and support operations.

Multi-Purpose Coastal Trader - Design of a vessel for operating in coastal waters that is able to discharge cargo on a beach whilst operating in normal ports and seaways. The vessel has the capability to carry bulk cargoes, containers, fuel oil and fresh water.

Newbuild Design of Three Ships - Houlder provided a full design team to produce the specification of three new offshore construction vessels. The project involved hull design, vessel layout, vessel systems, equipment arrangement, diving system, DP system, and moonpool design. A novel hull form that provided the vessel with low roll characteristics was derived and patented. A shipyard specification was produced and circulated to prospective yards.
