Rupert Hare – Managing Director

Rupert Hare has fifteen years' experience of naval architecture for Houlder focusing on project and contract management across the defence, offshore and commercial marine sectors.  He has a wealth of experience leading relationships with the UK Ministry of Defence and Offshore Oil and Gas companies specifically heading up vessel design, adaptation and equipment installation projects.

Mike Chew – Houlder Oil & Gas Director

Mike Chew is a Chartered Engineer with thirty years' experience of senior management within both oil companies and sub sea contractors. He has a proven track record of success as project director and manager on a range of projects from vessel design and build programmes to extended well testing and both manned and robotic sub sea construction.

Jonathan Buttigieg – Houlder Defence Director 

Jonathan Buttigieg is a highly knowledgeable engineer with expertise in multiple Mechanical, Electrical and Marine disciplines. His previous experiences comprises 25 years’ Royal Navy service ending with the Warship Support Agency (now DE&S) followed by a period as an MoD officer in Foxhill and Abbey Wood before joining Houlder in 2005. He was previously the company’s Defence Operations Manager – accountable for the technical delivery of Houlder’s projects and on-going support contracts.

Mike Simpson – Houlder Marine Director

Mike Simpson, Managing Director of Hart Fenton & Company is a Naval Architect with over thirty years of experience in the commercial shipping industry. He has a wealth of experience in leading the design of a broad range of conventional tonnage as well as large high speed passenger and vehicle ferries.

Frederic Perdrix – Houlder Technical Director

Frederic Perdrix brings a wealth of Naval Architecture and Engineering knowledge and  expertise to all of the company’s projects. He is a designer and engineer with over twenty years of  experience being accountable for multi-disciplinary teams working on a wide range of asset new  build, upgrade and conversion projects.
