Houlder’s specialist subsidiary, Hart, Fenton & Company led the conversion design for the 96m INCAT 050 catamaran. The vessel, previously chartered to the US Navy, now provides the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company’s FastCraft Liverpool to Douglas service - reducing the crossing time for 850 passengers and crew to two and a half hours.

The conversion project began by surveying the vessel in Tasmania. Design work included the addition of a new aft passenger lounge, an extended upper deck and a new vehicle ramp. Following the design, Hart, Fenton & Company provided technical guidance and draughting support to Isle of Man Steam Packet Company and its prime contractor.
